I really like this one, partly because of the color scheme, and partly for other reasons. I like that some of the blokus pieces in the background are shaded perpendicularly to the rest, most of which were clearly shaded concentrically to the heart design.
It seems like it would be easy and natural to do all of the shading concentrically, as this would make it easier to manage the difference in shading (from dark to light, etc.).
A couple of things that I am curious about: it looks like three of the purple blocks are significantly darker than their surroundings, oops?; and on the interior of the heart, there are some places where the type of shading varies (from marker striping to point density), was this trying out different styles for the interior shading? Which type came first?
I also have to say that I really enjoy the movement in this piece. Since some of the shading is perpendicular to concentric (radiant), and the block framework that overlays the whole image is irregular, the viewer's eye is not just drawn in, but encouraged to move over the whole of the piece, and the heart seems to pulsate.
